               Deputy Terry Snead started his career in Law Enforcement 28 years ago and has been a D.A.R.E. Instructor for the last 6 years. As an active DASC Board Member, he has previously held the position of Sergeant of Arms and now holds the position of 2nd Vice President.

              Sergeant Caldwell has been with the Sheriff's Office since 2008 and has been a School Resource Officer since 2014. She is currently assigned to Fairfield Middle School.

                Sr. Deputy Pearl Whitaker retired from the US Army after serving for over 21 years. She has been in Law Enforcement for more than 20 years and has obtained three college degrees, one of those being a Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice.

MPO Turner began her career in Law Enforcement with the Presbyterian College Police Department in 1998. Turner was promoted to Assistant Chief prior to leaving the department in 2011.  She moved to the Laurens County Sheriffs office and was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant over Court Services.  MPO Turner joined the D.A.R.E. family in the summer of 2016 after completing DOT Class. Turner was then transferred to Lieutenant over Community Services and served as lead DARE instructor for the department.  She then moved to the Laurens Police Department with the School Resource Officer Unit. She is currently serving as a SRO at Eastside Elementary School working for the Clinton Police Department. After serving as the Upstate Rep., MPO Turner was appointed to her current position as the DASC Sergeant of Arms in 2022.          

 

MPO Turner is married and has two children.

 

MPO Turner is a graduate of Walhalla High School in Walhalla, SC.

Senior Deputy Will Gibson began his career in Law Enforcement with the Batesburg-Leesville Police Department in 1998 and worked as a Patrolmen until 1999.  Sr. Deputy Gibson then began working with the South Carolina Department of Corrections until 2001.  During his tenure with the SCDC, Sr. Deputy Gibson worked as a Correctional Officer in the (SMU) lockup unit, Cell Movement Team Member, Rapid Response Team Member and Hostage Negotiator at Broad River Correctional Institution (SCDC Maximum Security State Prison).  In 2001, Sr. Deputy Gibson joined the Richland County Sheriff’s Department where he was road deputy and a current school resource officer for approximately 19 years.  He also has been a basketball and football coach for past 15 years at the middle and high school level. And is the current Varsity & JV defensive backs coach at Lugoff-Elgin High School in Lugoff, SC. 

Sr. Deputy Gibson is married and has three (3) children.  He and his family attend Mt. Zion Baptist Church and are active members in the Richland County Community.

Sr. Deputy Gibson is a graduate of Ridge Spring–Monetta High School in Monetta, SC and Charleston Southern University (Communication/Political Science) where he was preferred walk-on with the football team.

     Meredith Keisha Liane Wise, currently serves as a deputy with the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office as well as a School Resource Officer at Howard Middle School.  With more than 10 years of experience in law enforcement, she has worked in various fields to include employment as the Sergeant of Operations at Stevenson Correctional Institution with the South Carolina Department of Corrections, a deputy with the Aiken County Detention, and a probation agent with the South Carolina Department of Probation, Parole, and Pardon Services.  
    The fifth of six children and a native of Columbia, South Carolina, Deputy Wise obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Benedict College in May 1998 and also holds a Master of Science in Criminal Justice, specializing in Behavioral Science from Nova Southeastern University in February 2010.  
    Deputy Wise is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated of the Upsilon Omega Omega Chapter in Irmo, South Carolina. She is a member of First Calvary Baptist Church in Columbia, South Carolina. She has two sons and a granddaughter.  She enjoys arts and crafts, traveling, and shopping.
